Just imagine for a moment that both "sides" here were surrounded in Arrowhead by the KC GM, coaches and players. Now which side would the GM, coaches, and players respect as fans?
Thing is... no one is demanding blind homerism here. In truth, if the Chiefs had the EXACT same coaches and players going into this season? I can see a reason to feel deflated.. defeated. But that's just clearly not the situation... and that is why the truly open-minded, loyal Chiefs fans are either taking a wait-n-see approach..or even finding a level of optimism in their team being rather good.
