It's not like the originals were incredible works of art. They were visually spectacular, but the scripts were based on stories that have been told again and again throughout history.
As long as they come up with something ORIGINAL, and the dialogue and acting isn't utter garbage, they're going to be pretty good. The Star Wars world is too rich and interesting to give us a bad or even mediocre movie when those other elements are in place.

I see your point and agree. Since "visually spectacular" is now common place, I think that the story, script and acting will need to be first class in order for these films to be hailed. I'm sure they'll make plenty of money regardless.
