I've had wildblue for 4 years. I haven't really had a technical issue just customer support headaches.

My son is taking two online courses this summer and we breached our usage threshold so they throttled us back. That's on us.

I've got the original old equipment with about 1mb download speed. I decided to upgrade and called to set it up this weekend. During that time we fell below the threshold on our current service so I called yesterday. They said it could take up to 24 hours for the system to up our speed. So I check tonight and we're way below our threshold but still at the slow speed. So I call again.

Customer service chick was friendly and admitted I should be at the higher speed so she transfers me to tech support. Technician dicks around with it for about 10 minutes then puts me on hold because he had to talk to his supervisor. He eventually comes back on another 10-15 minutes later and says because I have a service order for an upgrade they can't up the speed on my current system. I'm WHAT? So I ask to talk to his supervisor.

Anyway, about 45 minutes of waiting on the phone for the supervisor they eventually gave up thinking I was going to hang up and the original technician comes back on the line and says they took care of it and my speed is back to normal.

Crazy customer service. Makes me a little nervous these guys are running satellites buzzing around in space.
