You are correct. We have both '03 and '04 to reach .500, and some folks believe Sweeney may decline to use his out if we seem close in '04.

A year ago I thought it was all but a sure thing he'd leave, that we were too far off, and I suggested cutting our losses and trading him now. After watching the team through spring training and then early in the season, however, I'm starting to believe otherwise. I think this can be a .500 team next year.
