I had a guy on this forum one time tell me that he wasn't going to get a chlorine pool... he was getting a salt water pool!
FYI for the general public... salt water pools are chlorinated.

We switched to a copper ionizer. It still requires a slight amount of chlorine but not to the levels you get when using chlorine or bromine as your only sterilizer.
We really wanted to do UV sterilization (I use it with GREAT success on my pond and fish tanks) but it would have cost us well over $1000 to do it right (you have to have exactly the right flow rate etc. to get actual sterilization).
