The height of my Stanzi fandom was never more than he's the best QB on our roster. It was informed by impressive games in college in spite of being hampered by the Bill Parcells of the NCAA, and a 2011 preseason where he was ABSOLUTELY the best QB on the roster. He then failed miserably the following preseason, and people who refused to acknowledge his prior success act like they were right all along.
I had reason to think he could have and should have been our starting QB, and that he's better for morale and the franchise than Cassel. At least Stanzi is a young QB who would have struggled but had the potential to grow. Matt served us the same ****ing shit sandwich that he's always delivered as a Chief. It has never ****ing changed, and it never will. Thankfully this will be his last year, though.
Even when we do draft Geno Smith, it's Cassel and Quinn who need to be the ones to get their asses out the ****ing door, not Stanzi. Keep Stanzi, sign a veteran, draft Geno. That needs to be our QB corps.
And with that, I'm done talking about Stanzi until Cassel and Quinn both get their asses benched for shitty play.
