Guerendo won the state title with a jump of 24 feet, 5 ¼ inches, or 2 ½ inches off the meet record. He has the state’s top marks this year in the 100 meters (10.52), 200 meters (21.61) and long jump (24-1 ¾). Avon had the fastest 400 relay time of regionals (41.73).

Guerendo, who returned kickoffs in high school, has been timed at 4.34 seconds in the 40-yard dash and hit 23 mph last season during his 82-yard touchdown run against Eastern Michigan.
