Clemson and FSU are not in the same position that MU was when they left. Months before it looked like they might, but things moved quickly towards stability, virtually every demand that was made was met, and there really wasn't much of a reason to leave anymore.
Except... by that time the herd had already been stampeded (similar to what FSU's chair did, and what Clemson's BOT are doing now, those fans are now ready to bolt), didn't matter what the arguments were for or against, the grassroots wanted to move come hell or high water, and the president had to bow to their will. When the decision was made at Mizzou, that bell simply could not be un-rung.
FSU and Clemson are facing a radically different situation which pretty much demands that they leave if they can.
