They do have their occasional episode with the bizarre alien (must be a british thing - mannequins and clowns and weird shit) but for every episode that has me cringing there's 5 or 6 more that blow me away.

I'm disgusted that Eccleston only played one season because he thought he would be typecast. Truth was not many knew of him before, and its still true after. There are only a certain number of regenerations and to throw one away on an actor that would only play one season was folly. They've already used a throw away doctor for the American version.
