That sentence is written to mean "one of." Hosmer is a good conversation point because he fits a strict need for the Rays (controllable 1B who can be an impact bat).

I was actually somewhat surprised when I heard Jazerli this morning on the radio. I talked to my baseball guy (he works at a national sports publication, too - one a little more prestigious than Danny Knobler) about Hosmer's value, and what he's been hearing from HIS guys is that they still believe in Hosmer. Slight sophomore slump + early awful luck that affected the rest of his season is what he's been told.
