It can be dangerous even IF you know how to do it properly. Olympic lifts weren't meant to be done at high rep ranges. Not all Crossfit gyms allow their lifters to do this, and I commend them for it. It's a great way to get injured.
Last statement: "I'm in the best shape of my life!" You don't have to do Crossfit to look great and perform well in everything you want to do.
