Gale didn't sign his name to it. he said something like "to my other W.W. my other inspiration" or something like that.
but what exactly clicked. what was it. I just can't remember and I'm too lazy to go on Amazon and watch it again.

In an episode a couple seasons ago Hank was looking through Gale's notebook with Walt was sitting right next to him. There was a quote from Leaves of Grass in it and the initials WW. Hank jokes that WW could mean Walter White and Walt jokes back "You got me!"
So when he saw the WW in the inscription in the book in Walt's bathroom, it clicked that the book was from Gale and that Walt and Gale were linked.
