I don't think blowing up cars with sticky bombs is very cost effective, each sticky bomb costs $400, so you need to blow up 3 cars to make 50 bucks. Then, once you blow them up you have to deal with the cops and if you die you have to spend a few thousand dollars at the hospital.

I've tried stealing a bus and blocking a busy stop light and blowing up everything, I've tried stealing 10+ cars and blowing them up in a nearby parking lot and neither of those made me much money.
