Brownback not too keen on continuing KU/MU series

TOPEKA | There are lot of things that stir the soul at the Kansas capitol: Taxes, abortion, immigration, redistricting and the like.
But let's face it, that's all government stuff. When it comes to continuing the Mizzou/KU rivalry after this year, Gov. Sam Brownback seemed as opinionated about that as any other issue he discussed with the media Friday afternoon.
It was clear, if there was a bill outlawing them from playing each other again, Brownback wouldn't have a problem signing the legislation.
"I think the KU athletic director had it right," Brownback said. "This is like a guy divorcing you and saying, 'Can we still date?' I don't think so."
"Missouri is the one that started this thing three years ago in talking about going to the Big 10 and nearly cratered the whole thing. Kansas and K-State really would have been in a tough spot. Now, they're talking, 'Come on, can't we play.'"
"This has been very difficult for us."
No worries, guv. This PrimeBuzz correspondent's favorite college basketball team will enjoy having Mizzou in the SEC
