Yeah. I discovered with pistols that there are some "tricks" to doing them, in engaging the raised leg. I had a tendency to tap the raised leg to the ground and do a slight push with it, which just makes the pistol harder. Thrust that bitch skywards and it helps activate everything and bring you back up.
