He did do this to different degrees for each specific scene so it looked less abrasive for those who are not used to seeing HFR. Played with the video quite a bit between the two films to get more of that film vs video quality.
So he spent a lot of time adjusting scenes individually and said his biggest asset of the video editing tools he had was something called
ProMist .
