You're right that it isn't normal (speaking from a majority of people POV) and it shouldn't be something that is celebrated. Unfortunately there are a lot of hateful ****ers that use all kinds of bullshit to hurt/demean/restrict these people. This is something that the few people who actually do it, don't do so casually or on a whim. If dickheads like Arrow, tom c@sh's latest mult, suzieray, and prison bitch weren't so into being hateful intolerant ****s towards gay and transgendered people then it wouldn't be a big deal.
