I had this same problem, so this will probably work for you as well.

"If your case has Mic-In and Headphones-Out ports on the front panel, ensure they are correctly connected to your mobo. If your case doesn't, then you need to make sure to jumper the Speaker Out L/R and Speaker Out L/R Return pins (these pins position can vary by mobo, so check your manual), otherwise the sound card can't create a proper circuit.

Let me know if that fixes the problem."

I wonder if that is the issue? If so...Not sure how to do what he is saying...
