However, here we are quickly approaching 2013 and times have changed. For instance, I was at the grocery store earlier and this 20-something clerk called me ma'am. I don't know what it is, but whenever I hear it, I get very annoyed. It always seems to be the younger guys, too. The older guys call me, "young lady", "miss", "missy". I even had one call me, "darlin'" recently when I was at the convenient store.

Interesting. It may be that the younger generation is being raised to call strangers ma'am. Who knows though? Instead of discussing the merits of ma'am vs miss, we should be fighting zombies right now. Damn Mayans can't get anything right.
