As far as I can gather, the reasoning behind this speculation was because Aikman was NOT a player, that is, he wasn't sleeping around with a bunch of women.
Turns out, Troy was just not a player (he wasn't sniffing coke off hooker's asses in motel rooms during his playing years) and he's definitely not gay. I think this is a fantastic parrallel story to your current conjecture that Manning has mistresses all over the place. JMHO.
