Either way, it seems they've handled the whole Carol situation pretty sloppily. Unless I just completely missed something somewhere.

Or 3) They found a mostly-eaten body that they thought was Carol's, and buried it.
Or 4) It was a symbolic burial plot. After all, didn't they have a grave also for Lori? They definitely didn't retrieve a body for that one.
