Maier, while not an everyday player, has shown a track record of having a respectable OBP in spot starts. Last year, he was at .345.
Dyson is fast. That's it. His instincts are garbage and his approach (offensively and defensively) is garbage. But, hey, good call, Dayton.
These are the kinds of decisions, while not necessarily earth shattering in isolation, that call into question Dayton's level of competence and potential to turn this team into a winner.
There are at least, at ****ing least, two players whom I'd cut long before Maier: Dyson and Sanchez.
