Your argument makes sense up to a point. In order to get corners that are worth while, they need to go first day. That means that half or more of the quality players that you draft are at one position. You would leave alot of holes that way. If you are drafting two each year just because you know one will fail, you may as well just give it up. Additionally, first round CBs don't come cheap either. If you don't plan to resign them, then every other year you are starting a newbie again at corner. Another problem with the theory is that corner has a very high learning curve.
