As for the audio sync issue, it's been fairly widely reported that there are sync issues between audio and video when using many non-progressive sources. This is most noticeable when playing video games, and has been a big complaint from console gamers with DLP sets.

I've heard of the rainbow issue with DLP, but I've never seen one. We've had our set for about two months now.
I think the audio synch problem has been addressed in the latest generation of DLP chips. At least I've never had a problem with mine. However, I don't play console games on it either.
