Alex Smith won't likely win a Super Bowl for the Chiefs, but unless he falls off a cliff on the way to KC, he's markedly better than Cassel.

If Marty was our coach, then Alex Smith would be a very acceptable upgrade. If you play Martyball, he can play effective enough to win games. But we are talking about an Andy Reid throw it around the field offense. He failed in SF when he had to play like that.
