Northwest, unless a aging DC-10 with small seats is your type of planeI say go for it. You will probaly find more deals with Northwest than anyone else. Minneapolis is their major hub coming from Kansas, which is fantastic. Minneapolis airport is a breeze going out and coming back. Stick with Northwest(operated by KLM) if going that route.

Never flown Delta but I have heard good and bad things about them. Hartsfield in Atlanta sucks going out and coming back in though.

Continental and U.S. Airways I have heard good and bad things about. I have no clue about United other than you have to deal with Dulles Int'l. Bleh.

How long is your stay? Apts in the Dam are on par as far as pricing goes. Do you care if it is busy at night? Or are you looking for something alittle calmer? Does it matter if you have your own shitter? Do you smoke? Alot of questions you need to take into account. Hotel rooms you have remember are by American standards extremely small. Apts are the way to go IMO. Check www.citymundo.com to get a idea of what I mean.

As far as what to do. There is the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Artis Zoo, Anne Frank House, rembrandt House, Dutch Resistance Museum, Concertgebouw(if you are into the arts), Sex Museum, Cannabis Museum, many churches you can visit. But if you are there for Queen's day, trust me, you won't find any problem finding anything to do. It is a city wide gay festival.

I'll only be there for a week. And yes, I'd prefer my own shitter, and I'm a non-smoker. Do the hotels suck that bad. I mean, I've traveled in Hanoi on business and stayed in a couple of great hotels. Hmmmm. I'll be there with two of my business partners, so we'll be looking to have a good time as well.

Thanks for the info, especially the Northwest tip. I used to fly them direct to Beijing via Detroit and their airplanes were great. Agreed on the DC 10. Those planes blow. Appreciate the details.
