Sharon Carter, his eventual girlfriend and partner and a major supporting character in the comics. She's also the relative (niece in the comics, but the timing is off for the movies) of Peggy Carter from the first movie.

Crossbones, aka Brock Rumlow, a mercenary killer and a extremely dangerous long-term nemesis of Captain America's. He was also the one who eventually sniped Captain America at the end of the Civil War storyline. (Cap died, but got better.)

Thanks for the post about Sharon! I knew I was missing something upon seeing the movie (I'm about to see it again actually, it's still playing at a theater in Wichita believe it or not).
