I'm in business. I get that part. Very little of what I'm talking about is business related.
If I've taken Bearcat out for a business lunch to discuss a project or contract etc and he spends half of it texting his girlfriend....That's what I'm talking about. Or the people on dates or in groups who don't actually communicate because they can't take their face out of their phone.

If you would just meet her...
Hopefully a quick 'hey, can we focus on this...' would take care of something like that, but yeah, it would be pretty annoying and rude if you're there for work and they're checking facebook or whatever. Checking your phone during an interview is kind of mind boggling, too, and I've heard similar stories.
Something I find interesting is when I'm talking with someone and I get a text, after they do that dumb 'is it mine' thing (even though their phone has never made that sound), they get a dumbfounded look like 'uh, are you going to check that?' I don't mind if people check their phone as long as there's some kind of acknowledgement if I'm talking, so I don't continue rambling to someone who's clearly not paying attention.... but, it's funny that people talking to me will actually think
I should interrupt
them and check my phone.
