No. I am sure there are some former combat medics/corpsmen who post on this site, but from what I have personally witnessed and have been trained the body's reaction to a traumatic amputation is one of self preservation; the arteries withdraw inside the wound. There is a suspicious lack in the amount of blood, and one of the first things I thought after seeing a guy with his right leg severed just above the knee, and left foot mangled from an IED.
