Vanderbilt's stadium was at around 95 percent capacity (38k of 40k). Even if you buy ku's updated attendance figures of 36k, it was at around 72 percent capacity.

That's a rather sizable difference, yes?

Also, not like Missouri fans didn't travel well. Mizzou sold out its allotment of 3500 tickets, and I have seen estimates that around 8000 Mizzou fans were there. In perusing a few Vandy message boards during and after the game, I saw comments comparing Mizzou's takeover to that of other schools in the SEC (Tennesee and Georgia were the ones I saw mentioned).
