Those were a lot of fun...... one other 4th of July entertainment tricks was as as kid, Dad would drive a piece of pipe in the ground at a slight angle. Drop a M-80 down in it, then drop a baseball in it. BOOM! From our back yard to the open yard of our neighbors, you had about 3/4 of a block to gauge the trajectory of the ball. What this did was taught me how to catch a high fly ball, instant baseball skills! The one thing you didn't want as a 8 - 10 year old was to have that ball come down on your head of get your nose!
