Haha, well they aren't all equal the MLS Cup is still the big prize but the US Open Cup is a real big deal and thought of as a team championship. Its prestigie is best described like being in the Final Four without actually losing a game at the end to make it that way if that makes sense.
The US Open Cup is a tournament held every year (during the MLS season but between league games) where soccer teams from all levels of the US Soccer pyramid can compete. It is like the NCAA tournament. 64 teams winner moves on...teams from leagues at the top are given bye's...this lets the smaller teams play each other early for the ability to be cindrella.

Also the game was really dramatic. Went down to PKs.
