My dad worked in KC in a blue collar job when the riverboats first arrived, and he used to tell me a number of the guys he worked with became degenerate gamblers instantly. One of them ran up 5 figures on his credit card with only a butt mark on a casino chair to show for it, one of them had a card his wife didn't know about that was maxed out, some would go gamble on their lunch break and after work too... Sad
