I think mandating a tip is bullcrap. I tip 15-20% or more since I used to wait tables in college, but I don't think it's fair for a place to force it. Dude, if someone stiffs you on a $30 bill, no biggie, you may get pissed, but you'll live. Getting stiffed on a $300 bill will make many contemplate murder.
