Eh, he got victimez a bit on the pitch to Sanchez.
Walking Ruggiano was pretty unacceptable, but he threw a great pitch that got Sanchez to hit a slow roller to SS...it just managed to sneak by. It happens.
Motte threw a
great cutter to Sanchez that he didn't get the call on. If he throws that pitch with any regularity at all, he'll be just fine. And to be honest, he's thrown it quite a bit more since Butler.
I'll probably never be comfortable with him protecting a 1-run lead (his velocity turns flare singles into ringing doubles; it's the nature of power pitching), but he's the least of our concerns in that bullpen right now.
