You know, no other businesses operate this way. Let's say you were going to buy a car, you could get a stick shift or an automatic. You prefer stick and it's a great looking car.
The automatics run perfectly but one in three sticks backfire and run terribly.
How long would that car company make a profit? People don't take that shit anywhere else and it shouldn't be acceptable with $60 games, either.

No, car companies would know about the problems and ignore it in hopes there wouldn't be enough scrutiny that it started receiving public attention in the media.
Plus, game bugs and glitches don't have the possibility of killing you - unless you mean in-game.
