Wow. Now that's how you end the Governor's story arc with what was perhaps the best episode in the show's history. In the end, it was well worth it to take the time to reboot his character in the fashion they did. It made this episode's conflict and the emotional gut punches it wrought all the more painful.

Tough to see Herschel go, but I wasn't all that surprised to see it after the central role his character played in the first half of this season.

TWD has completely changed for the better since the beginning of S4 (and the new showrunner) in a way that I didn't think was possible after last season. They're also now moving on from the prison, which I've thought they had to do for quite some time to advance the show.

Also, it hardly seems important at the moment, but they still haven't addressed who the person was that was feeding the zombies rats and dissecting animals (and for what purpose). It presumably wasn't the Governor or any of his people. That will no doubt be explored further in the 2nd half, but it could be somebody we still haven't met yet too.
