I think the problem is that nothing is really clear cut.

You think Guthrie has turned it around based upon his last five starts, and yet you are ready for Chen (who needs one more decent inning tonight before he'll have posted a quality start in four of his last five starts as well) to move on.

I have no idea which of our starters will post the lowest ERA in September. I wouldn't be surprised if Hoch, Chen, Guthrie, or Mendoza looked good or bad. That, to me, is the problem.
