There are many threads here that discuss good dog food. I would give Innova, Canidae and Timberwolf a look. Bunnytrdr is an expert in this field, so do a search through his posts for some advice.
As far as cost goes, if you do your research, find a good food that your boxer can eat (some have allergies) and feed the correct ammount listed on the bag, high quality food will be similar in price to grocery store foods like purina or iams. The quality is so much better, you can feed less and in the the long run, you reach a cost equilibrium.
