What's our other option? Draft that illustrious ILB that won't change shit on our defense? Burn a first rounder replacing Brandon Carr?

This shit has to end. We have to start drafting those guys you don't like. One of them is going to work out. It happens all the time. A Joe Flacco or somebody like that. The dice MUST be rolled.
I got no problem with drafting that guy at 15 or 20. What I got a problem with is drafting that guy at 5 or at 8. Which is where someone like Tannehill or Sanchez comes into the discussion. When those guys miss, and they will miss much more often than not, it's one thing to lose a single first rounder. When you're giving up future picks in the blind hope that a guy that doesn't look like a player might somehow miraculously hit.

Of course we're having this discussion in a thread about Geno Smith, who should go top-5, if not outright #1. So what you're really asking is whether we should trade picks to move up for...who? Let's say Barclay, Smith and Wilson are off the board by 8 (conservatively speaking...). We're at 15 and talking about moving up for...? Bray maybe? Actually that's remarkably like the Sanchez discussion, maybe, a guy who probably needs another year in college. So do you give up your draft for him? EJ Manuel? Fall in love with Zac Dysert?

You know what's going to happen, though. We'll draft Manti Te'o, thrilling all the people who think Belcher is some kind of hole in the defense.
