I've never been a big fan of the pre-configured versions of XBMC. Always been trouble. There's an XBMC Hub Wizard from xbmchub.com, that has a setup like this. I used it once to setup a friends system, and it sucked balls.
I've always stuck with the official XBMC versions. I've used some Nightly versions in the past. But these days I just stick with latest stable version.

When I was having all the problems with mine, I had a bunch of crap on it from xbmchub wizard. It looks really nice on the surface, because it has "apps" with a GUI that allow you to change your buffer limit, clear your cache, and do all kind of other "fixes" via their wizard app. I almost gave up on XBMC when I was running that piece of shit. That was when I was crashing like twice during the course of a movie.
