In your OP you are trying to make the representation that 96% of cars having black boxes is a sign of government intrusiveness. However, these boxes have come into popularity by the car manufacturers all on their own without any peeps from the government.

If you want to talk about what "could" happen that is fine, but the fact that 96% of cars already have these boxes is not exactly a confirmation that the tinfoil hat wearers are correct and it doesn't give any credence to the scenario you were trying to paint in the OP which was that these boxes confirmed government intrusiveness and the tinfoil hat wearers were right.
