She has no clue. The ONE person she thought it could be doesn't speak the best English, and this guy seems relatively well educated English wise.

As someone who has quite a few international friends, there are quite a few people who have an easier time writing English than speaking especially if they are formally educated in the language (I can read/write Spanish much better than my ability to speak it for example).
