I'm not really bothered by his comments. Our O-line will have 3 new starters, the QB situation is a question mark, and we don't have probowl caliber WR. I think he made two mistakes in his analysis:
1) When evaluating the o-line this year, you can't really keep using the Roaf point. We played without him last year, LJ still ran for 1700 yards and we made the playoffs. The Chiefs have moved on.
2) You can't argue that Black was not that good and call it a negative that we lost him. Did he just miss that the Chiefs signed McIntosh? Did he notice that Shields' play deteriorated over the last 2 years? Did he notice that Welbourne was a decent RT for us, but his best position is guard?
I think Herm and the Chiefs like the fact that they are getting no respect and are flying under the radar. The key will be the Chiefs ability to run the ball well and stop the run. If they can do that, they will win alot of games because they will control the clock.
