Public Enemy's 2nd and 3rd albums had a Phil Spector like wall of sounds equivalent when you consider the level of sampling they did to generate their sound. Likewise the legal restrictions related to sampling that were in place when "Fear of a Black Planet" came out were so minimal compared to now it allowed for a greater freedom Rappers today frankly can't afford to do it.
I keep looking but can't seem to find anything equal to those two albums. Any suggestions?
