That's my point. The scenario the Jets are in now doesn't work out more times that it does.

I'm not saying pass on a QB if your team isn't up to snuff. There is NO WAY KC should pass on a QB the talent of Luck or RGIII regardless of the state of their franchise. I'm just saying that if, as GM who inherits a bad team, if you aren't sold on a rookie QB, then drafting one high isn't doing him or your franchise any favors. Jacksonville with Gabbert happens more times than the alternative.

When the Jets drafted Sanchez, he may not have been ready to start, but they were able to make it work because they had a good team in place. He's digressed since then, but it wasn't a bad pick at the time. They made 2 AFC championship games with him.

The complete roster turnover of the QBs from last year also is a good indicator that they are serious about addressing the issue.
