That's realistically 7 teams that are going to be fighting for 6 spots. You can maybe (with Alex Smith) put Kansas City in the On the Rise section. Even if the Chiefs somehow get into a WC spot.....they're going to playing a team like Baltimore, Houston Or Indy. That's a tough game on the road to have to win.

In todays NFL teams have to be able to put up 35 points a game to be really competive and have a shot in the playoffs. The defenses are only good to contain the good offenses. I look at Alex Smith and don't see him being the trigger man for an offense to put up 35 points a game. We had the worse point offense in the league or one of the worse and I don't see Alex Smith being much of an upgrade to change that.
It's really going suck balls watching Alex Smith play QB for the Chiefs.
