The only playoff system in major sports that works is the NBA's. Baseball is prone to massive swings of luck in a small sample size. In the NFL, a team can have an entire season dashed by a ball on the turf bouncing one way or the other. Nine and ten win teams winning the SB is a joke, too. In the NHL one hot goalie turned an 8th seeded Kings team into Stanley Cup winners.
They are almost all bullshit if you actually analyze them.
