I'm just as pissed at the Chiefs as anyone. But if my car gets dirty, I don't just throw it away and assume I'll be able to buy another one.
Probably wasting my time here dealing in unrealistic hypotheticals but I'll try to clarify my point since you asked.

It's clear we disagree that IF KC where to lose the Chiefs, they would ever get another franchise in our lifetimes. It's an opinion that neither one of us can prove. So why belabor the point? You would probably say "NFL franchises dont' grow on trees. And you'd be right." And I would point to you the Cleveland Browns.

The point is this. In this hypotehtical, my view would be "meh. If that's what Clark would want, then go." I'm not entirely sure winning a SB is his #1 goal anyways and that's hard to admit. Furthermore, I think the city could get another team back in time. But if I'm wrong? Then I'm wrong and I choose another franchise to follow. In other words, I have options.

What I meant by being held captive is for those fans (and maybe you're not in this place. If not, good for you.) who would view the team moving as the worse possible thing that could happen to us and thus we must keep filling up arrowhead, spending money to ensure they never leave. In other words, just more of the same and not having options. To me that's being held captive.
