I would guess most of the "OP" stuff is coming from the pvp subset of players. My perspective may change once I get them all into the 40s, but I've played gunslinger/sage/sentinel/commando, and from a purely solo pve perspective, none of them are really any weaker than the others. They just all do different things well, and in a lot of ways you have to play them differently to really succeed. It's actually kind of amazed me just how well my sentinel has worked out solo, after hearing how awful and difficult the class is. Ironically, for me the gunslinger, the one that does by far the most damage, is usually the most challenging to play. While there isn't a whole lot (so far) that I can't handle, on the other hand if I'm not on the ball, ridiculously easy things can kill me, and it certainly requires the most downtime in terms of post-fight recovery.
The one class I'll probably never touch is guardian/juggarnaut. That one just screams "boring" to me.
